The Cycle of Life...of Fish

A lovely sunny Saturday morning... a phone call from my nephew, Tony Klassen, and...
a much appreciated invitation to
 Weaver Creek Spawning Channel

Emma, Leah, Julia
Peter, Susan & Victor Klassen, Tony, Emma, Leah, Linda & Julia

 Location
So many jumping fish and only a half an hour drive from our place.
Near Harrison Mills in the Lower Mainland, British Columbia.

Hours of Operation
And, if you want to see them hard at work, you have till Nov. 1
Open from 8:00 am until dark.
There is no admission charge.
"Look at all those fish!" "But what is that smell!!!???"
Sockeye, some chums and...

pink salmon--the prettiest and the tastiest of them all.

Cycle of Salmon Life

A meandering stream 2,932 meters long for fish to follow.
Gravel to lay their eggs in.
We walk beside the stream...and wait for our picture to be taken.
A place to kick up your heels...and be yourself (:
Go, Susan, go!
Look how determined this fish is. All of them are very anxious to get to the spawning channels.
 Ooops, wrong way...

You know how it goes once you have a song in your head...

Do you remember this one from way back when?
I will make you fishers of men
Fishers of men
Fishers of men
I will make you fishers of men
 If you follow me

And then it was time to go home for Faspa...
